MARGARET FRIERSON CHERRY
Wife of Francis Adams Cherry, 35th Governor (1953-1955)

Mrs. Cherry wore a strapless inaugural gown from the Helen of Memphis Shop in Memphis, Tennessee. Shirred netting accents the top of the dress while the skirt and lower bodice are embroidered with sequins. The bell-shaped skirt is made of double nylon net. She wore a stole of white nylon net, a whited beaded evening bag trimmed with rhinestones, a white lace evening handkerchief with sequins and white kid opera gloves with the gown.
